Solid 4 stars - you get what you pay for type of deal. The building is circular so the rooms actually feel kinda spacious, but not the bathrooms. Only 1 elevator works. The staff were one of the highlights. Very nice people. Great location, walking distance of everything. Very quiet. Minimal breakfast.

The front desk service was good, with Joan a particular treasure. Joan was incredibly helpful with ideas of things to do, places to eat and drink, and was always greeting people with a smile. The hotel location is excellent, but the hotel interior could use a good update. I spent 6 nights at the hotel during the summer of 2024.

I'm going to be completely honest. Me and some friends online booked this hotel without checking reviews because we needed somewhere to stay for Animate! Raleigh. We went into it skeptical and prepared for the worst after reading them. But we had a great experience. Our hotel room was clean and comforting. The building does need a bit of an upgrade, sure. The wallpaper is peeling and the decor is a bit old. It's clear there are some shabby r repair jobs and our shower didn't drain properly. The elevator rattling made me nervous at times as well. But we had a very pleasant experience. Only one elevator works, but the one that does work is extremely quick (reaching floor 12 to lobby within 6-8 seconds with no stops). No odor in the lobby. A nice grab-and-go breakfast of fruit, muffins, danishes, and cereal. They have a small snack area you can charge to your room. No maintenance issues. No roaches or bed bugs. Very nice staff. Honestly the pros heavily outweigh the cons for the price we booked at 70$ a night. Parking isn't free however. But it didn't effect me since I don't drive. I recommend this place if you need something close to downtown for a cheap rate!

We stayed here for Dreamville Fest. The staff was the star of this stay. They were friendly and accommodating, very helpful and I can't say enough nice things about them. I had a problem with my original room lock. My room was switched out with no hesitation. Yes, only 1 elevator was operating, and the bathrooms were tiny.... but overall, the great location, close to everything and staff made up for it.

What a beautiful hotel, dave at front desk is awesome. Hotel was clean and decorated nicely. I wanted to stay a 2nd night. Walking distance of many unique places. This hotel deserves more 5 star reviews, they are making many improvements to make it even better like carpet care and such. Beds were so comfortable. Plenty of amenities and in a beautiful area.

We had an amazing time staying here. Our room was very clean upon arrival. We were very comfortable, and Marie was so accommodating! She let us check in early to get comfortable, and she remembered us every time we walked by. She even gave us some snacks for the road as we headed home and made sure we were always comfortable and happy during our stay! We anticipated the paid parking and authorization of $100, as we were told by our Airbnb host where we booked the hotel through. That happens with downtown hotels. The 3rd party app was as not a challenge through the booking at all! The hotel is a perfect location to the walkable downtown. We loved going to State of Beer, which was just steps from the hotel. A 5 minute walk, and you’re at the State Capital and all the gorgeous museums. Street art and beautiful culture is everywhere you will look, just steps from the hotel. I highly recommend this spot if you’re doing anything in downtown.

Smooth check-in and parking process. Prime location with several restaurants and things to do. The area is walkable and felt safe. The room had security. The room was standard but spacious. I always clean the room to my liking upon arrival. The hard wood floors and bathtub were not clean. I notified housekeeping and they came and clean again after I did. The bathroom sink drained slower than expected but it drained nonetheless. The bed was slightly firmer than my own but surprisingly comfortable. I slept like a baby. No breakfast services but several spots within walking distance. Only 1 working elevators for 18 floors and sold out rooms. Waiting for an elevator upon arrival was a drag. For the location and price, this hotel was definitely the best bang for my bucks. I will definitely stay here again.

I booked a one-night stay here on Halloween 2024 based on a credit card deal and convenient location. Unfortunately, the lobby had a strong sewer odor, which was overwhelming for someone like me who’s sensitive to smells. My first room was noisy, with what sounded like someone rollerblading above me, so I requested a different room. The second room had no hot water, and there was pubic hair in the shower. I reported these issues to both the hotel concierge and IHG customer relations, explaining that the room was uninhabitable and showing proof that I booked another hotel instead. Despite this, they still charged my card. Very disappointing experience considering the exceptional location and character of this building.
